Course modules and teaching hours: 

Module 1: Physico-chemical aspects (10)
Polymerization, classification, molecular architecture, molecular weight and molecular weight distribution, crystallinity, thermal transitions .

Module 2: Mechanical behavior and viscoelasticity (8)
Viscoelasticity, time - temperature superposition, stress-strain behavior, fracture, creep, hardness, impact behavior, toughening, dynamic mechanical analysis, theory of rubber elasticity.

Module 3: Chemical and physical behavior (4)
Environmental resistance and weathering, chemical resistance and solubility, permeability, electrical properties, optical properties, flammability.

Module 4: Industrial polymers (10)
Commodity polymers, engineering polymers, specialty polymers.

Module 5: Unit operations in polymer processing (10)
Rheology, extrusion, injection molding, blow molding, rotational molding, thermoforming, compression molding, transfer molding, rubber processing, fiber spinning.
